Cheryl has over 19 years of experience in public accounting.  She was previously with McGladrey LLP, where she worked with the Carolina’s tax team to serve individuals and closely held business clients providing unique insight and knowledge to benefit their overall strategy for growth and success.  She also led the not-for-profit tax practice in the Raleigh office, before joining Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP as a manager in January 2015; she became a partner in 2017. She has vast experience providing tax services, as well as serving as a trusted advisor to her clients by providing consulting, planning, and operational assistance.

In addition to her career in public accounting, Cheryl served for over 18 years in the NC National Guard.  In 1991, she completed Officer Candidate School and obtained the rank of Major and held branch specialties for Finance and Quartermaster (Logistics).
